Responsive Design

Every screen,
pixel-perfect

Your website should look and work flawlessly on every device — from a 27-inch desktop to a 5-inch phone. We build with a mobile-first approach so nothing is an afterthought.

Built responsive
from the ground up

Responsive isn't a checkbox we tick at the end — it shapes every design and development decision we make.

01

Mobile-First Development

We design and code for mobile first, then scale up. This ensures your site is fast and clean on the devices most of your visitors use.

02

Fluid Layouts & Grids

Percentage-based widths and CSS Grid/Flexbox mean your layout stretches and stacks gracefully — no content ever breaks or overflows.

03

Responsive Images

Images are served at the right size for each device using srcset and modern formats like WebP — faster loads, no wasted bandwidth.

04

Touch-Optimised UI

Tap targets, swipe gestures, and hover state fallbacks are all handled. Your site feels native on a touchscreen, not like a shrunk desktop.

05

Cross-Browser Testing

Tested on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge — across iOS and Android. We don't ship until it works everywhere.

06

Accessibility Standards

WCAG 2.1 AA compliance — proper contrast ratios, keyboard navigation, ARIA labels, and semantic HTML for all users on all devices.

Tested at every
screen size

We build and test across four key breakpoints — every layout, every component, every interaction.

Real device testing

Not just browser resize — we test on actual iOS and Android devices to catch issues simulators miss.

Typography scales naturally

We use clamp() and fluid type scales so headings and body text are readable on any screen without media query overrides.

Navigation adapts properly

Hamburger menus, bottom navs, collapsible sidebars — whichever pattern fits, we implement it correctly and accessibly.

How we make it
work on every screen

A structured process that builds responsiveness in at every stage — not bolted on at the end.

1

Audit Your Audience

We look at where your traffic comes from. If 70% of your visitors are on phones, the mobile layout gets the most attention and polish.

Data-driven
2

Mobile-First Wireframes

We wireframe the smallest screen first — establishing content hierarchy and interactions before expanding to larger viewports.

Design phase
3

Component-by-Component Build

Each component — nav, hero, cards, forms, footer — is built fully responsive before moving to the next. Nothing is left until the end.

Development
4

Multi-Device QA

Full testing pass on real devices and BrowserStack — checking layout, interactions, typography, images, and forms at every breakpoint.

A broken mobile
site costs you
real money

Over 60% of web traffic is mobile. A site that doesn't work on phones isn't just annoying — it's losing you customers every day.

Google ranks mobile-first

Google's indexing is mobile-first. A poor mobile experience directly hurts your search rankings — and your traffic.

Mobile drives purchases

Over 70% of e-commerce purchases happen on mobile. If checkout is broken on a phone, those sales don't happen.

53% leave after 3 seconds

Slow, broken mobile sites bleed visitors. Responsive, fast sites keep people long enough to actually convert.

First impressions are mobile

For most businesses, the first time a potential customer sees your site is on their phone. Make it count.

Common questions
about responsive design

Everything clients ask us before getting started.

Is responsive design included in all your projects?
Yes — every website we build is fully responsive by default. It's not an add-on or an upgrade; it's baked into the way we work. We don't build desktop-only sites.
Can you make my existing website responsive?
Yes. We offer responsive retrofitting for existing sites — we audit your current code, identify layout issues across breakpoints, and fix them. Depending on how the original site was built, this may be a targeted fix or a partial rebuild. We'll be upfront about what's needed after reviewing your site.
What's the difference between responsive and adaptive design?
Responsive design uses fluid grids and CSS media queries so the layout adjusts fluidly to any screen size. Adaptive design serves fixed layouts for specific screen sizes — like a completely different mobile version. We build responsive by default because it's more maintainable, performs better, and scales to any device without needing multiple codebases.
How do you test responsiveness?
We test in Chrome DevTools across standard breakpoints, then on real physical devices (iOS Safari, Android Chrome), and using BrowserStack for cross-browser QA. We check layouts, typography, interactions, images, forms, and navigation at every size before handing over.
Will my site pass Google's mobile-friendly test?
Yes — every site we deliver passes Google's Mobile-Friendly Test and scores well on Core Web Vitals for mobile. We also check that text is readable without zooming, tap targets are appropriately sized, and content isn't wider than the screen.
Does responsive design slow down my website?
Done well, no. We use responsive images with srcset, lazy loading, and CSS-only solutions where possible to keep the mobile experience fast. A well-built responsive site is actually faster on mobile than a desktop site viewed on a phone — because it loads only what's needed.
